About this piece
Sleep is a steel sculpture of a bed submerged in the ground. Since only the headboard and pillows are visible, the space around the sculpture becomes a bed without boundaries, evoking notions of home and homelessness, as well as vulnerability and intimacy in public space. The work contrasts the comfort associated with a bed with the discomfort of its cold steel pillows and the ground around it.
